How is this anything but a victory for anyone but Pound? The UCI realized they had a no win case and finally dropped it. All Pound did was reiterate that the UCI are clueless
And the UCI has acknowledged, in this release, that WADA is duty bound to observe if they are clueless
it remains the duty of the bodies responsible for combating doping, including WADA, to note any inadequacy on the part of any agency whatsoever with a view to making this fight more effective
But, perhaps it was also a temporary victory for HWMNBN and even for FFFollowers.
Emphasis on temporary.
This came about when Pound was pounding on the Vrijman report and the FFFollies. It did apparently succeed in making Pound go quiet over this critical period.
As we have seen, though, we now have the Floyd Rule which allows the ADA's to combat PR tactics and disinformation campaigns. We can now add the UCI's public endorsement of WADA's ability, or that of any ADA (e.g. including the AFLD), to 'note any inadequacy ... whatsoever'.
That is a pretty broad mandate. One that should be making Verdruggen deputy McQuaid nervous.
Let's see what kind of 'notes' Bordry provides on any and all 'inadequacies' from what can only be predicted as next year's feeble UCI controls at the Tour as the UCI continues with its stated objective of seeking to eliminate any positive controls whatsoever.
