i had a ct scan today, and after 18 weeks of chemo, 7 weeks of radiation, and surgert to remove 1/2 of my left lung, i appear to be cancer free and in good condition other than radiation burns to what remains of my left lung.

i feel good, and i'm up to 19 mph cruising speed without killing myself. still a ways to go, but i'm getting there.

thanks to all for he support, it helps more than you know.

This is great to hear Patrick!

19mph is faster than I can probably sprint! Keep it up.

I'm not sure how I missed this thread for 3 days, but it is fantastic.

I want to point out that I often go faster than 19mph, but it always involves either downhill or a very strong tailwind. laugh.gif laugh.gif

Late to the party, but AWESOME news!!

I'd dedicate a song by the Hoff to you, but I know you're not into him much. laugh.gif

I think this calls for a glass of something alcoholic ... as long as the doc approves it of course !

Also, respect to the LA foundation is in order (at least from me).

i've had plenty of glasses these last three weeks, (more than i needed i suspect) and you are right my friend, respect for the laf is in order. the livestrong ride this weekend gave me some much needed perspective on things. i would highly recommend it to everyone.

the ride was great. some of the survivors i saw really made me feel lucky. one gentleman had one leg amputated at the hip, so he only has one pedal, and i was so inspired seeing him there. i've had my days of feeling sorry for myself because i lost half of one lung, and then i see this guy riding strongly, and it makes me so thankful for how easy it's been for me.

my brother rode with me, and his favorite part was when one guy rode up and saw my survivor tag and asked "how many years?" i told him "3 weeks" and he just smiled a huge smile and said "that's great, i'm 9 years" and rode on. my brother said he's never seen me look so proud.
