Moderator note:

This thread is about Valentino Fois. Please stay on topic.

If personal bickering does not stop, the thread will be closed and/or further moderating measures may be taken.

Bickering? If it's a coherence between one (or several) persons agenda and his/their statement(s), then the upright thing to do are to mention their agenda. It's not about bickering, it's about honesty.

If you want a better debate, please stop moderating important information about the topic.

Thank you

Do you really think that posters on an effing cycling forum have "agendas"? It's a cycling forum, for god's sake. People post smart things and sometimes they post dumb things and for most posters most of the time its somewhere in between cause it's just off the top of their heads, and what does it matter if people start bickering about something when in a day or two we'll all be on to something new anyway?

And besides, an "agenda" for what, exactly? To try to convince everyone else to think the way they do? To undermine the views of others? Oh yeah, we can see how well that's going to work on a forum whose members routinely bicker over whether it's "Sergei Gonchar" or "Serihy Honchar".

Maybe if I weren't so lazy I would develop an "agenda", but as it is I can't even be bothered to check DPF more than a few times a week.

Wow, you are really starting to sound like House. He used to complain about - and to - the mods all the time as well.

And no, the word of the day remains "sarcasm".

Not the mods, but a mod (singular form).

I took the time to read both threads in cycling and doping forums.

I don't see a problem with the moderation.
I do however see something we all often have to remember: If a discussion in the cycling forum turns to doping it would be better to open a new thread in the "doping" area to discuss that as a separate topic.
This was the popular decision of the members of the forum long ago so those that wanted to discuss the races, events about the sport would not have every topic turned into a debate on doping. Which is why it a separate area and rules exists.
All though the discussion moved to the doping forum became heated, it was good to see that the members themselves in the course of the discussion were able to rise to understanding each others positions over the course of discussion.
The moderators don't write the forum; the members create the forum content. As moderators our duty is to keep the discussion in a channel that is civil, on topic and within the rules.
The forum is as good as its members the topics and ideas they present and debate... I think this is enhanced by a willingness of the members to apply the rules to themselves so we can have a civil discussion and debate of the sport.
The dailypeloton.com has had forums/message boards since 1999 in our two incarnations on the web. It has always been a lot of fun sharing ideas, experiences and learning about cycling culture with cyclists and fans around the world.

Thanks for you contributions to this,

Vaughn

I don't have a clue if he/she is french or not.
Besides, I'm the one who defends TdF position in the cycling world.

The FFF (Frenchfry deFends France) system has started to be to predictable my friend.

You have played the "Verbruggen-card" so often that I want to help you with some new "cards". Here we go;

You are joking now IH? Do you mean that I'm not allowed to mention famous french people? And if I mention them, then it is nation bashing?
LOL!

And I'm happy to see that your giving priority to what's important as a mod.
Never mind that in the same thread there are cyclists being mentioned as dopers without any evidence. I'm sure you just didn't see that? And I'm sure that you soon would moderate those posts? Right?

Just an opinion but having "doping discussion" smack in the center of the main page is like having an open can of worms inviting divisive discussion. I'd bury it. Those new may not be interested in getting into arguments daily could find the topics and comments distasteful. Let the flamers "dig" for doping it if that's what cycling is all about to them.
