What can you gain by refusing to be tested, when you know the consequence is a lifetime ban ?

I guess when you are 40 years old... not much, since your career is over at that age.

Steve,

a couple of questions. Any chance we can get Stephen on the message board? You know him or have some connection with him correct? Whould be nice to hear his side. Considering the current fan perspective.

In order:
-Absolutely Zero.
-Yes.
-In my own words/interpretation, he really doesn't care if people hear "his side," since that never gets an athlete in his situation anywhere unless people hear what they want to hear.
-He probably doesn't care about the "current fan perspective" - cycling is in the past for him (my take, not his words).

Thank you Steve for the post.

By "in his situation", do you mean, "serial doping offender"?

I've only just glanced at his case history (what's publicly available, anyway), but is there a real possibility that he's anything other than a sport cheat?
