QUOTE(Reid Rothchild @ May 5 2009, 09:37 AM) *

I wanted Dick Pound but Dirk told me it was already taken by a mediocre Canadian swimmer. What a waste of a name for a swimmer. Also Dirk told me it was too obvious. He came up with "Chest" but he spells phonetically so he wrote a note to Jack that "Reed is going to use the name Chest Rockwell." Jack knows what side his bread is buttered on so he started sending correspondence to me as "Reed."

I hope that straightens it out for you. helmet.gif

Anyway, back to the op, it's a nice LeMond tribute.

Kind of like the old days in my line of work where genuine performances were rewarded.

Now because of the "supplementation," everyone's a star.

Were DIrk and Reed's performances supplemented? Wasn't that in the 80's? I'm getting confused now... smile.gif

There wasn't any vitamin V back in those days.

That's why you have to give credit to the original Hedgehog, Ron Jeremy. The new Hog, this Belgian guy is a poser.

Couple of really quick website suggestions.

1. On the home page, use an image that is the same size as the space you're putting it in. It'll load waaaaay faster than pulling down that 1.8 meg image every time.

2. Consider giving the image a zero border, if you're not intending that purple border to be there. If you are, no worries.

I PM'd you the changes I suggest, built out. Please feel free to just snag them. Ping me if you want help.

I didn't know if you had image editing software to change the size of the LeMond image. Hope that's helpful. Great site!!!

Thanks very much, Z, I appreciate this a lot.

Everyone is free to contribute if you have pics or stories related to greg, feel free to PM me or write here :

Last update : July 26th, 2010:

It's been a while... almost a full year, actually.

A busy year for our man Greg who started twitting, blogging, facebooking... lots of insights, check them out.

Greg recently spoke about breaking is collarbone on Liège Bastogne Liège 1982, the pics are here among a special focus on years 80-81-82.

I was planning on opening a new section containing written words. I'm afraid my english is not good enough to express my point of view as I'd like. I might try this in french in the future... what do you think ?

That's it for this summer, contributions welcome, as always...

Greg is the reason I became a pro cycling fan. I've had the honor of riding with him and talking with him several times. He's a true champion. Thanks for creating this site in his honor.

He's a nice guy and very interesting to talk to. He's quick to smile or laugh. He's completely down-to-earth and has been willing to answer every question I've ever heard anybody ask him. He's been painted as some sort of doping crusader but I'm not sure that's true. It seems to me that he's a guy who has strong opinions and sees no need to disguise what he thinks if he's asked about them. He'd probably be just as willing to share a political opinion as one about doping, but because of who he is it sometimes turns into a big deal if he makes a comment about doping and it doesn't matter much to the public what he says about anything else.

When the road tilts up, despite the fact that Greg is carrying a quite a few extra pounds, he quickly proves that he's still got a really good motor.

edit: missing word made meaning unclear

I have a friend who rode with Greg (and Eddy) in Brussels a few weeks ago as part of the American embassy's 4th of July celebrations, and he pretty much said the same thing about Greg as Joe did. helmet.gif

War. War never changes. The end of the world occurred pretty much as we had predicted: Too many humans, not enough space or resources to go around. The details are trivial and pointless, the reasons, as always, purely human ones.

Thanks for sharing, guys, I love those stories, although I'm a bit jealous...

This is a man who wants to connect with people, it seems...
