Not sure why he's disliked more than various other team managers that have been running teams since the 90s that have or had institutionalised doping programs, most of which have yet to be formally outted. In that sense, he's no more a "devil" than the rest of them. He just got caught. -

My guess is that Dauphine times were early so as not to clash too badly with Rolland Garros. Suisse times are late I believe so that spectators have a chance to watch the finish of the stage after work. Worked out quite nicely for those of us who wanted to watch both the Dauphine and Suisse stages last weekend

Burkni, on 07 June 2013 - 09:25 PM, said:The extremely hilly nature of the Firenze parcours.
Each lap has quite a lot more elevation gain per km than Mendrisio, although the total gain is probably similar due to the circuits only starting about 100km in.
However, what does work in Fabian's favour is that the main climb to Fiesole, if quite long, is not overly steep. If he survives the final ascent to Fiesole with the favourites (and that is a big if) he can put some serious pressure on immediately on the descent and the two short, sharp climbs that make up the rest of the circuits - not unlike the Paterberg but without the cobbles.
A dream scenario would be him and Nibali duking it out on the final lap but I think the GC types will emerge out of the peloton due to pure attrition.
That makes sense, for some reason I thought you meant the Worlds TT. -

Quite sad to hear all of that really. I wasn't expecting him to be competitive this year but was hoping to see him back to his best next year. Sounds like we'll never see the old Andy again...
