  1. In Topic: Fuentes, Saiz & Co.

He is a strange bird. I wonder if any cyclists had a strange gut feel & decided not to use his services? I got the impression from Tyler's book that Fuentes was a bit scatter brained.

Wow. So he & Pat McQuaid are no longer on speaking terms, and Pat knew about LA's doping "many, many months ago."

"Pat is just in constant CYA (Cover Your Ass) mode. Pathetic."

Cue in the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger growling:
    "Under my bus...
...it's down to me, the change has come, he's under my bus"

Oh my gosh -- Al Trautwig?!

"Lance is a jerk", " the crap & the stories we were fed...", "a very tough and arrogant person"

I'm just amazed at the backlash Lance's attempt at redemption is generating. Cycling fans outraged about the Lance & the sport we know, who have followed it closely for years, that is understandable. But all these people on the periphery, or who don't follow the sport at all, I'm surprised at the vilification. Al probably does know the back story, but still, the amount of anger towards a person in sport that isn't of much importance to him is shocking. I'm not going to defend Lance, but I am skeptical of the media dogpiling. Where were these cynics back in the day?

So if this is what Al Trautwig thought of Lance & cycling while he was broadcasting the TdF, I can't imagine he thinks well of Phil & Paul & Bob.

It was Jesus Manzano who got the ball rolling.

You're right. Jesus Manzano doesn't get the credit he deserves.

Intelligent insights from Jorg Jaksche, per usual:
