If this were to come to fruition, Edinburgh could (by the looks of it on Google Maps - never been myself) host the most spectacular prologue since Monaco.
The route round Arthur's seat could make for 100m in elevation gain and another 50m on the beautifully cobbled Main Street alone.
And all of this could be safely contained within a prologue distance.

Who would be wearing kilts. What's not to like here?

Seriously, can the 2016 Yorkshire bid compete with this scenario? (no chance the UK gets the nod for two years running)

Well, as a Lancastrian by birth, I will of course be opposing the Yorkshire bid

Bloody beautiful.

(Google street view is just fantastic for some things.)

Cobbles...drunks....sounds dangerous. Can't believe Burkni is supporting this idea.

Dude ... we're talking one rider at a time here!
It's the notion of riders sharing the street that I am sceptical of :dur:

Maybe he means you are underestimating the amount of drunks.
War. War never changes. The end of the world occurred pretty much as we had predicted: Too many humans, not enough space or resources to go around. The details are trivial and pointless, the reasons, as always, purely human ones.

Can't say I have ... Worse than Delirium Tremens? (the beer, not the side-effect)

As a Belgian, I feel it is my need to say "ahem"

Comparing it to some Scottish swig, tssss! Don't make me send you some Buckfast instead of a Westvleteren XII if you win the WP overall Burkni! ;)
