We have a mid-mountain stage to come out of the rest day to.

The last climb is not overall very step, but starts going up about 70km from the finish, and just keeps going up. Then to make sure the legs really get some sting, there are a couple short steep ramps including right at the finish.

The race is on. Wish I were going to be watching it instead of heading to work.

With a break of 10 totally non-contenders for GC away, with over 6:00 minutes at about 80 Km to go, it looks like it could be a day for the breakaway.

Not sure who in the breakaway group has the best punch in their legs for that short climb. I would think the JRod will want to get a little more time on the other GC contenders when the main group gets there.

Can not understand why Rodriguez knowing that he is going to lose time both in the TT and on the long climbs to come, didn't try to put a little more time in the bank on this stage that fit his style to the "T".

I think it wasn't so steep, and the last kilometre was pretty flat. They would likely have hunted him down.

Absolutely. He may still do well in the high mountains, even though he is at his best in the short, punchy climbs. What I think is more likely to work against him is that he peaked for the classics.

I guess that is what I get for basing my opinion on a low scale profile, and a ticker instead of waiting until I could watch the recorded race.

Watching the recorded show now. Interesting to see Cav carrying bottles in the Sprint leader jersey. He always mentions how hard "the boys" rode for him. It's nice to see him giving some actual support as well as the verbal support after he wins. Earlier in the year he road hard on the front in support of Wiggins, carrying bottles now. He needs to be careful or he's going to lose his Prima Donna reputation.

He's just getting in some practice before the real bottle work starts at home!

/insert joke about Peta Todd and feeding 'quality'
War. War never changes. The end of the world occurred pretty much as we had predicted: Too many humans, not enough space or resources to go around. The details are trivial and pointless, the reasons, as always, purely human ones.
