Not often that we see something really new but this is no Passage du Gois, but rather a 6-lane motorway of 30-something kms!
Would be a very unique stage, with strong winds blowing and a huge logistic challenge if they are going to start it somewhere in the middle.
I for one hope that the Netherlands get this one, not least for Unipublic/ASO's sake as it is apparently a golden goose to them - Guillen claimed to have covered 50% of the Vuelta's costs in a mere 4 days in 2009 when it also had a Dutch start.

I guess those densely populated countries/cities in Western Europe are willing/capable of putting down a lot more cash than small Spanish mountain hamlets!
War. War never changes. The end of the world occurred pretty much as we had predicted: Too many humans, not enough space or resources to go around. The details are trivial and pointless, the reasons, as always, purely human ones.

That's the thing.
Food for thought: I don't think the Spanish Tour has ever visited the country's beloved neighbour to the west, Portugal.
