I was thinking about how the GC battle in the Vuelta tends to be very close, and decided to look at the last 10 years.

Without looking, and going totally by recollection, which winner had the greatest margin of victory? Make your pick.

Voted Aitor, who was at least very dominant even though he didn't take the lead until on the last day
(if that makes any sense)

Oooh! Fun quiz. I haven't a clue what the answer is: Vino over Valverde? Great Vuelta, that 2006 one.

Looking forward to the answers!

Pretty sure Menchov 2007 has the biggest gap in the past 10 years (I think Ullrich may have gone over 4 minutes before that, can't remember the year). La Vuelta tends to be a very close race and has the closest finish of any grand tour ever - was 5 or 6 seconds I think.

Sorry for the delay in the response. We have a winner! It figures that I have almost no recollection of this race, so perhaps I didn't see any of it, and perhaps Denis put me to sleep.

It was definitely the most boring GT in recent history.
