War. War never changes. The end of the world occurred pretty much as we had predicted: Too many humans, not enough space or resources to go around. The details are trivial and pointless, the reasons, as always, purely human ones.

Fantabulous! T-mobile also has a picture of him jumping up and down on the podium. Did anyone see that?!

A lucky pic by some photographer who probably shot off a series while Gonchie helmet.gif was popping the cork. High speed shutter to get that cool stop action of the flow. The http://www.gazzetta.it/Speciali/Giroditalia/2006/it/ site has a whole row of vids! Just look for

PRIMI PIANI

Video: guarda Sergei

and you can see him jump in the air when he gets on stage. He was having a good time.

"So, ladies and gentelmen of the jury, we're to believe that the champagne cork was fired, turned left in mid air, paused three seconds and then hit Mr. Serguy Gonchar square in the face?"

My guess is that the cork popped, the bubbly first sprayed up onto his cap, then he shifted the position of the bottle whereby the stream was directed onto his face midstream, and we get that cool flow across his eyes while he's still smiling and totally enjoying every minute.

But you're right! Whatever or however - amazing!

Off to the side, Savo is laughing about the amateur move. "You're supposed to douse the podium girls!!!"

I dont hink he is smiling and enjoying that, more like a grimace. Chom-pan-ye (as Gabiriel Gate says) sings your eyes.

Not a real 'cycling pic' but...i saw this one a Belgian site, some paparazzo was strolling down the streets of Monaco when he saw Tom Boonen, his gf and some other ppl chilling at a table in a bar. cool.gif

I'm just wondering...are those others guys cyclists too? I can't really tell. The left one looks a bit like Stuey but then doesn't. The right guy looks a bit 'heavy' for a cyclist. So, opinions? biggrin.gif

Stuey, Boonen, Boonen's girl (whats her name?), PVP's girl?, Peter van Petegem.

PVP looks happy to see the paparazzi but Boonen is looking for more ready to run while Stuey is thinking "we're in Monaco, look cool, what would Geroge Clooney do?" Or he is looking at PVP's girlfreind/wife and thinking "why did I get stuck with Ann-marie, oh why did I get stuck with Ann-Marie!?" Maybe STuey dosnt feel to well after drinking that huge mug of beer.
