...Why in God's name would ANY cyclist in need of coaching turn to Arnie Baker?...do cyclists out there not KNOW what an unethical rooster he is?
...

A whole barnyard of roosters in that post. Makes the reading of it kinda fun. Why is this guy wagging a chicken at the office? Is he trying to lay an egg?

But, why would anyone now select Arnie when they are a Fattie Master?

Possibly because he knows, or the Fattie Master is speculating that he knows his shyte? The other kind of shyte. Maybe he has a connection or two, maybe even a magic concoction or two. Nothing like the vanity of a Fattie Master going through the change with a disposable income big enough to customize their preparation.

I remember a winning college football team where the coach was nicknamed 'Doc.

Dave.

How much you want to bet that "Fattie Master" dude will lose about 20 or more Kilograms before the l'etapes du tours de francs. The transformation will begin when he buys the gold program. Or does coke bottle glasses have platinum programs?

I know Chris Comical has all these programs color coded and even has training kits. Does Arnies army have that?

Hey, when do you guys graduate highschool ?

"Nerd", "dork", "bottle lens glasses" ... oh, and the "grand master fattie" training for his dream event ?

You guys are pathetic ... you should try taking a step back and reading your own mean, stupid posts before clicking the "add reply" button. No wonder this forum is going to the dogs, too much inbreeding,

The only inbreeding here is what happens when you cross a torch with an English Bulldog...it becomes a Scottish Candle...kinda like Colin Montgomery....Now, an even more interesting question is: what do you get when you cross a disgraced former (two or three days...) TdF champion with a forced vacation and a domestic schedule? Well, you get an unhirable has-been who clearly never was. Well, some want to wait until the end of NEXT season to definitely say this. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Landis begin to perform better at select races in the future, I suppose, but if he doesn't, expect the hip replacement excuse to hit the ground running. I'd be the first to admit that coming back from that would be difficult.

The point was: he (the new Arnie trainee) described himself as an ex-pro to all the office folk,,....then a quick look at the USAC results show that he was a DNF in the few races he did start (as a fattie Master!). Why then, did he rooster about the office, and then say he was going to ride L'Etape?...because he IS what he is...and actually, to bring this full circle, he belongs in the same 'pathetic' pen as Dr. Arnie. My momma used to tell me (and she was from central North Carolina, a far superior breeding ground for intellect blink.gif than Atlanta!) that if you sleep with dogs, you get fleas.

And Mr. Torch, I am definitely NOT pathetic. Nor mean, or stupid! I am, however, a cynic of the 33rd degree.

One might add that those of us making these comments are from the same racing community and might actually know Arnie. Unlike the Scottish equivalent of Bin Laden, cowering in a cave in the Grampians, 5,000 miles from San Diego.

(Shake of head) ... Man. you are so sad and pathetic, it actually hurts. You've got this guy who has a goal and you decide that it's not worth pursuing or that he isn't worthy of pursuing it ? He's not fit enough. he's not "one of you", he's maybe full of himself 'cause he has a goal ? Get a life and stop judging other people, cause I can assure you that nobody is interested in your opinion ... although please tell me how the Etape guy gets on ... that does interest me ! He at least is trying to improve himself.

PS: Twice as sad for bringing Floyd into the equation ... I never even registered that at first reading ... you're a real class act, man ... full marks, if you were aiming for total ####wittery as a desirable outcome.

If I hurt you, I am sorry. Oh, wait, I think that was just a slip of your tongue. You are so witty and clever, that often I have difficulty understanding your meaning! I am still trying to figure out how you morphed this thread into the sorry braggard ....from Arnie and Floyd. I didn't see a thread with the words "Fattie Master" in the title!
From my lips to yours...: I have a life, and its a good one, from my perspective! And in the world of me, that is the only perspective that counts! And I only judge when someone openly invites me into their existence (at that point, I figure they are asking for the 'judging'!). So when I get asked by this fellow's seniors and executives if what he has to say is for real, I try to be objective. Not that it is any of your business, torchy.
I believe it, however when you say that '...nobody is interested in your opinion..."...Well, nobody except for you, who managed to respond to my sad and pathetic post. You could just read on and ignore the sad patheticy of my writing, but noooooo, you actually WERE interested and responded! Funny that!

Good luck, Mr. Torch, enjoy the Talisker.

At least we have one thing in common ... dogs. Just turfed my basset hound out the back before calling it a night (she'll be back in in a few minutes, then we can all go to bed)

PS I'm really not a whisky drinker. A nice traditional beer (preferably not British), or a nice red wine (obviously not British). And if I were a whisky drinker, the Speyside malts are considered the best and most traditional amongst the whisky drinkers in the northeast of Scotland (an aquired taste, I believe).

Yeah, well, I still cover more intellectual ground than you can actually recognise. Never mind, take it at face value and hopefully it's at least entertaining/offensive (that's my baseline objective)

Someday you will have to share this intellectual capacity with us. Until now it has not come across in your posts so we will just have to take your word for it.

Here's a good one - Floyd won't be riding the TDF next year because he is a victim of the political battle beween cycling organisations laugh.gif

Nothing to do with the fact that he has been nothing better than pack fill this year.

He appears to be quite comfortable living a big lie and constantly blaming others for his misfortune.

I don't blame Landis for that.

Difficult to say that racing clean or just much cleaner than ever make you very less strong.

Could he say to race TDF against those dopers I need to have a good doping program but it's too expensive for me now?

It's hard to believe that Landis is serious about these comments:

"I can't foresee what the politics in cycling will possibly lead to but the organisations in control are not working well together. There are people caught in the crossfire and I happen to be one of them, so I don't know if the opportunity will come up again. I would like to. But it's very sensitive.”

"Most teams are afraid of giving them any reason to make them the pawn."

There's been a number of riders coming back from suspensions relatively smoothly, so what would be the problem for any team picking him up?

Unfortunately, given his results, he's not exactly making it worthwhile for a team to take the supposed risk of becoming a 'pawn'.
