What a great rider and a great ride!
cyclingnews:
Phinney clocked a winning time of 1:03.208 to best silver medalist Jimmy Watkins (Momentum Cycling) by more than two seconds, while Stephen Hill (East Point Track Club) finished third.

Roger must have let some air out of his tires.....
I was gonna drive over today, but decided to cruise by tomorrow. Sorry I missed your ride Steve. Nice result.

How about that podium picture? I'm no coach, but I don't think lack of quadricep muscle mass is something Steve needs to worry about!

Thanks for following. I got silver in the match sprints, but it was costly - I went down hard in the 2nd ride of the final. Broken rib, fractured sternum and a pulmonary contusion that is bleeding into my lung. I think I'll be on injured reserve for a while...
The fun part is they're not sure if they are going to let me fly home with the lung problem. Great! Trapped in Los Angeles.

Good grief! 'Get better soon' doesn't sound enough here. Don't catch a cold, control your laughter (I know that's hard during elections) and courage for the next few weeks. I hope the healing goes well, and this will just be a bad memory for you very soon.

Yes, on a serious note, I would NOT get on a plane with that condition, you could drop a lung, and you do NOT want to have a pneumothorax. Speaking as someone who once had a non-traumatic pneumothorax.
Get an opinion form a pulmonologist...catch a cab. Whatever.
Good luck healing!

Already did, I'm good to go. 12-hour x-ray was already showing marked improvement, and I have the OK to fly tomorrow.

Steve,
Update us on your rehab and recovery when you get a chance. Hope you're getting back to it.
today marks the 2nd full week of riding and the end of the 1st full week of gym work.
Bench presses are not fun with bad ribs.
