Burkni offers thanks, this is probably his 2nd career Giro and he is elated, particularly at being heralded by the press as the standard bearer of the new, ham-free generation!

He is doubtful at the safety claims of PBP's ale, though ...

Congrats Burkni! Nearly top 50 not too shabby. Burkni will have to check through his trophy case to confirm this is his 2nd giro title. Check behind the three vueltas, and two tdfs to see if there are additional giro titles back there.

There's just over a week to go (one during which Rake will have to endure the annual borefest that is Wimbledon all over my TV - the only sport where commentators only refer to the participants by their Christian names, as if we are all good mates) to the 100th Tour de France. Some teams have declared their teams, whilst others just their squads. However, to help selection matters, the attached website is a good summary of the start list.

Unfortunately Rake is struggling to find participants carrying less than 7pts - not that it matters, as his seat is firmly at the back of the autobus this season

Burkni has a similar problem - 5 half-decent contestants and the budget is almost dried up.
Burkni will soon write his incisive piece on CQ point inflation.

Not enough riders coming back from bans with zero points!
