Under 23 Liege

Kai Reus just won the under 23 Liege.

This newly minted 21 year old is the next star to come out of the Rabobank espoir academy.

I think this can be a good thread for Under 23's before we get an exclusive forum.

Good to see Steensen doing so well, as this is his first year in the U-23 ranks. He will be closely followed by Danish fans (he was the World Number 1 rank in the Juniors last year).

I've heard of a junior Geraint Thomas (British) I think he won the junior Paris Roubaix, and got a T-Mobile development deal I think he had a nasty crash last year and broke his pelvis. Anybody heard of him?

he is a decent timetrialler, lacks power on the climbs. Needless to say, he ain't no Gatesie.

Well T. Dekker is still only 21. People sometimes forget that. I think he should be listed as Nr 1 U23 rider. He was the Nr. 1 by a very large margin when he was still racing in the U23 races.......

there is atleast one better timetrialler than him in the espoirs though.

Mikhail Ignatiev is an absolute BEAST.

yep Brajkovic goes uphill better than Dekker and is a fine timetrialler.

Luis Leon Sanchez is similar to Dekker. Same age.

The list I have made, is a list of riders below the age of 22, wether they are pros or not. That means Haussler is to old to be on it, since he is 22. Concerning Jamieson he could perhaps be a prospect to the list, but I prefer Goss when it comes to the Australians that should be added. But the list was made just before his very impressive wins in first Liberazione and then Regioni.

Who has won tirrenico? who has gotten 2nd in criterium international? Who has won an ITT in the tour of poland? Who was by a great length the no1 in 2004 (?) in the category U23? Who is 2-time dutch TT champion?

Btw Barjkovic got beaten by t. dekker in the eneco tour.....

Can't see a better 21-year old at the moment......
